The story of Isra and Mi'raj for children
The historical period in which the night flight and ascent took place, was a period in which the Prophet Muhammad faced great hardship and grief after the successive deaths of his uncle Abu Talib and his wife Khadija bint Khuwaylid, while also facing harsh rejection from Ta'if. So God Almighty wanted to relieve him of his grief and worry, and to comfort him and reassure him.
This journey began around the tenth year after the revelation and about a year before the migration of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, from Mecca to Medina, known as the Hijra. It was a journey that began from the Kaaba in Mecca, to Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem, and concluded in Heaven.
The Holy Prophet was captured from Mecca to Jerusalem, Ali Al-Buraq, and there he was waiting for all the other prophets who came to teach the religion of God before the advent of our master Muhammad.
In the first heaven, the Prophet met our Prophet Adam, and he greeted him, then he ascended to the second heaven, and he met our Prophet Issa and our Prophet Zakariya, and he greeted them, then he ascended to the third heaven, and he met our Prophet Joseph, peace be upon him, and he greeted him, then he ascended to the fourth heaven, and he met our Prophet Idris, and he greeted him, then he ascended to the fifth heaven, and he met our Prophet Aaron greeted him and ascended to the sixth heaven, so he met our Prophet Musa, so he greeted him, then he ascended to the seventh heaven, so our Prophet Ibrahim supported his back to the inhabited house, , then he went to Sidrat al-Muntaha
And in this heaven, God Almighty, after He revealed what He revealed to the Prophet Muhammad, imposed prayer. In the beginning, God imposed fifty prayers. When the Prophet Muhammad met the Prophet Musa, peace be upon him, Moses commanded him to pray to allah to reduce the obligation of fifty (50) prayers, because his nation could not do that, so Moses told the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, to ask allah to reduce the number of prayers. These prayers - until these prayers are reduced to five (5) obligatory prayers. The Messenger also saw the people of Paradise and their blessings, the Kawthar River, and the opinion of the people of Hell and their torment and their food.
At the end of the journey, the Prophet returned to Makkah Al-Mukarramah, and in the morning the Messenger told what he had seen of the wonders, but his people lied to him. Individuals from Makkah came to him asking him about the description of Jerusalem, so he described it with great accuracy until people were amazed.
Then the Messenger, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, presented another proof of his sincerity and told them about the caravan he saw on his way back.
And at the time of her return, it happened as he told them, so the matter increased their wonder and confusion
